My life as of late has been all about going to work, leaving work, getting sunburns and mosquito bites and seeing movies.
Would you like me to tell you about my experience seeing ‘The Dark Knight’?
Because I am not the kind of person willing to stand in a line for anything (and because I had television to watch, duh), I did not go to a midnight showing. If I had any patience at all, though, I would have. I did, however, go at 9:30am this morning, and a crowd of people going to the movies at 9:30am is apparently one of the most socially awkward and embarrassed crowds there is. No one, myself included, was brave enough to admit that they were sitting in the mall food court waiting for the theater to open. When the lights on the marquee came on, everyone stared at the doors, willing everyone else to make a move. Finally, somewhere around ten minutes before showtime, someone came in from outside, not embarrassed in the least to be among the mall-walkers and people who could not wait until a more reasonable time to see the newest Batman movie, and walked right in.
The sound of a dozen chairs scraping back on a tile floor all at once is something to hear, let me tell ya.
And that is how I ended up in a line anyway.
Because I did not want to be the first person walking into the movie theater before noon.
I don’t think anyone wants to be that person.

That does sound awkward..

Hahahaha… that is too funny! I can honestly say that I have never seen a movie that early. I think the earliest one I saw was Silent Hill at 1:30pm in the afternoon.
And mall walkers… that definitely jogged (no pun intended!) some memories of my days working at a mall kiosk, and seeing the mall walker brigade come rolling in by 10am!
So, what did you think of Dark Knight? I saw it at 10:10pm and then a week later at 1:40am, and I loved it!
