While at Borders a couple weeks ago, I decided it was time to take a wander through the music section. I rarely ever do this; I don’t usually listen to “new-to-me” music. I usually end up just laughing at Simon and Garfunkel album artwork or something.
I’ve been listening to new-to-me music a lot lately. I’m just throwing all of my ideals out the window, aren’t I?
Before buying a cd, I ask myself a series of questions:
- Have I ever disliked this singer/band/pop group of questionable talent?
- Has this singer/band/pop group of questionable talent ever had a song featured in a television show I have watched once or twice or a million times? (I’ll spare you the 80′s/early 90′s music I’ve found myself listening to because of this, though.)
- Is there a person with a beard on the cover?
I’m not even kidding about the beard thing. I kind of wish I was. My mind, sometimes, is a scary place.
Here’s some music that recently made it through the screening process and is now in rotation on my Itunes playlist (I’m going to try to provide a link from each image to somewhere to listen to the music. we’ll see how this works):

which is really awesome and cool
because I can’t stand it when I
try and find something nice to listen
to only to realize that everyone else
likes it already. ARG!
