Lately, I’ve been offending people by not having a decal in the back window of my car that says “life sucks, I hate everything.” It’s kind of a passive act, really – it doesn’t take much energy to let a car sit in a parking lot in full view of people who just cannot stand opposing viewpoints, so I shouldn’t complain much, right?
But it’s been three people now, and I still don’t get it. I am not telling anyone to climb up into the clouds with me in the same way I am not expressing my distaste for the collection of stickers I don’t like on the bumpers of trucks I see here every day. I’m not asking anyone to abandon their dignified rage, either, but why point it at someone who is doing nothing other than not wallowing in their own?
Life isn’t horrible, is it? You’re breathing? You’ve got the money to fill the cart you were pushing when you took the time to pause, roll your eyes at my car, and let me know just how ridiculous you think I am?
Yeah, I thought so.
This outspoken negativity thing is both amusing and baffling. Also the reason I don’t listen to talk radio.
PS: It is snowing. Hey, Mother Nature? It’s April.

I hate people who are like that. Who think that just because they *think* their life sucks, that everybody else should think their lives suck too. And then when you don’t agree, you’re just dumb, or you’re one of *those* people. It’s just ridiculous.
I’m totally with you about the “It’s April” thing. It started snowing here last night and I was absolutely dumbfounded.

Call me a pessimist (okay, I can be) but my general view on life is that it sucks and I would be hard pressed to fine a dozen people I know who disagree. So, I guess you’re lucky. Enjoy it.

And I am by no means denying that life can and probably does suck because I am not particularly happy with a lot of things either. I’m just saying (or, well, my car is) that a little bit of affirmation does no one any harm. For the most part.
